Respected colleagues and friends,
On behalf of General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine of the People’s Republic of China (AQSIQ) and Standardization Administration of the People’s Republic of China (SAC), I would like to warmly welcome you to attend 2005 CHINA-BRITAIN STANDARDIZATION CONFERENCE, which will be held on June 29th.
The Chinese government has always paid great attention to the exchanges and cooperation of standardization with other countries, including U.K. On April 21st 2004, the Standardization Administration of the People’s Republic of China signed a Joint Cooperation Agreement on Standardization with British Standards Institute. The two sides have agreed to develop wide-ranging exchanges and cooperation in the fields of studying on standardization strategy, jointly drafting international standards, standards research projects, exchange of information and documents on standardization, and the secondment of relevant employees to the other party’s organization, etc. In the past one year or more, the two sides have conducted effective cooperation and have gained fruitful achievements, thus laid down good foundation for further promoting the comprehensive and deep cooperation on standardization between China and England.
This seminar is one of the important activities of technical exchanges for the implementation of the Sino-U.K. cooperation agreement. With Environment Protection, Energy Conservation and Standardization as its theme, the standardization experts from China and U.K. and representatives from enterprises will conduct thorough exchanges and discussion during the seminar. This will help in mutual understanding and seek common knowledge in the fields of environment protection, energy saving and standardization, further strengthen the exchanges and cooperation, as well as to promote the coordinated development of economy and society, prosperity and stability in both countries. Both the Standardization Administration of the People’s Republic of China and the British Standards Institute have made careful preparatory work. Even though the Conference only lasts one day, more topics will be covered. I hope the colleagues and friends can give your support and attention to this Conference.
Let us jointly wish 2005 CHINA-BRITAIN STANDARDIZATION CONFERENCE complete success!
Sincerely wish you all a pleasant stay in China!
